A message to:
Worshipful Master, Shawn Blacklock and Brethren All
I wish to thank:
- The King Edward Lodge membership and all the Past Masters who supported this petition;
- Past Master Brother Mel Lewis for initiating this course of action and did some personal fact finding.
- PM Joe Allin for continuing the process.
- PDGM Gerry Van Houdt in gathering all the facts and creating the document that was forwarded to Grand Lodge.
- Pm Ron Janes for supporting this endeavour and moving the paperwork forward to Gr. Lodge.
Those who know me well, will know that I prefer to be a back-room kind of guy.
I do attempt to support the various committees and members as best I can.
Every person has
his own reason for becoming and continuing to be a Mason.
For many,
fellowship and social interaction are the main attraction and the principal reward of membership in a lodge.
Everybody has his own reason for becoming a mason and each is valid and legitimate.
For me,
just being here is enough. However, many of
our Masons have made great contributions not only to our lodge, but our District and to Grand Lodge.
For
me, the wonderful aspect of Masonry is that
we meet as equals without regard to class distinction, economic status, educational background, profession, race or creed.
We bring into our lodge room, only ourselves, who we are and what we wish to become.
Thus for me, the acceptance of this honor is especially pleasing as I have wished to be
"Just a Mason".
So, in conclusion, I again express gratitude to all who have made this presentation to me possible.
Thank You.

Masonic Memorial Service
This will be an in-Lodge Memorial Service and
by doing so, we will have the opportunity to
recognize the contributions of our departed
brethren and say our final farewells to them.
The Memorial Service will be for:
V.W.Bro. Andrew ?Andy? McKay Skilling,
W.Bro. Fredrick Anthony ?Tony? Pinfield,
Bro. David McLean,
Bro. John A. Wilson,
Bro. Geun Young Yi,
?We cherish their memories in our hearts?.
It should be noted that we are holding this
special Memorial Service for these brothers
because the pandemic did not allow us to hold a
Masonic Service at the time of their deaths, as
would normally be the case. At the same time, we
remember R.W.Bro. Gordon ?Gord? Ronald
Henry for whom we were able to conduct our
usual Masonic Service and we remember him for
his long service to Gothic Lodge and Victoria
District.
